We elaborate on the structure of conformal anomaly effective action up to 4-th order, in an expansion gravitational fluctuations $(h)$ background metric, flat spacetime limit. For this purpose we discuss renormalization 4-point functions containing insertions stress-energy tensors (4T), field theories four dimensions with goal identifying action. focus a separation correlator into its transverse/traceless and longitudinal components, applied trace conservation Ward identities (WI) momentum space. These are sufficient identify, from their hierarchical structure, contribution, without need proceed complete determination all independent form factors. Renormalization induces sequential bilinear graviton-scalar mixings single, double multiple terms, corresponding $R\square^{-1}$ interactions scalar curvature, intermediate virtual massless exchanges. dilaton-like terms couple anomaly, as for chiral anomalous WIs. show that at 4T level new traceless component appears after renormalization. comment future extensions result more general backgrounds, possible applications non local cosmologies.
